Adult Christian Education

We have numerous opportunities for learning and fellowship for adults at Holy Comforter.  Whether you’re a new Episcopalian, a longtime parishioner, or a visitor, we hope you’ll want to explore these educational programs.

We are able to provide childcare during Adult Education events. If you would like to make arrangements for childcare, please contact Lauren Cavins at laurenc@holycomforter-clt.org or 704.332.4171 extension 209.

Sunday Morning Adult Christian Education takes place from September through May and begins at 9:15 am.  Some of our programs have included: Perspectives in Faith, Listening for God’s Call, Discerning God’s Spiritual Gifts for Ministry, Anglican Roots & Episcopal Branches, and Men’s Bible Study.

Wednesday Evenings in Advent and Lent are opportunities for adults to participate in special programs that encourage thoughtful preparation for the celebrations of Christmas and Easter.

The Inquirer’s Class is offered periodically, and provides a wealth of information about the origins, history, and beliefs of the Episcopal Church, as well as information about our parish.  This class is for those who are new to the Episcopal Church, who are Episcopalian but would like to know more about what we do and why we do it, and for those who are considering Confirmation or Reception in the church.

The Tuesday Morning Brunch Bunch is a group of senior parishioners who gather weekly for fellowship, prayer, and the study of Scripture.

Quiet Days are held occasionally in the church, and are a time of silently communing with God in the presence of the church community.  Quiet Days may include prayer, a meal, music, or a service project, but are conducted in a spirit of thoughtful tranquility.

EFM Graduates are those who have completed the Education for Ministry program, a formal three-year study of the Bible and theology.  These graduates gather for fellowship and study.
