The Bell Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 7:30 pm from September to May. The Adult Choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 7:45 to 9:00 pm from September to May.
On Palm Sunday 2011, the swelling sounds of our new Bunn=Minnink Pipe Organ, masterfully played by Ginger Wyrick, struck a resounding chord in the hearts of parishioners. Holy Comforter’s original Wicks Pipe Organ was installed in 1970 as a gift of Mrs. Carolyn Sherrill in honor of her parents. It served our parish beautifully for nearly four decades before wear and tear, material deterioration and age took their eventual and expected toll. In 2008, the dedicated folks on our Organ Committee selected Bunn=Minnick of Columbus, Ohio, to build a new organ that preserved virtually all of the key pieces of our beloved instrument. Nearly all of the existing pipes were meticulously repaired, restored, re-scaled and re-voiced. The existing 25 ranks (or rows) of pipes were increased to 42, (for a total of 2,438 pipes). A new console with an additional keyboard and far greater memory was added. Thanks to your ongoing support and generosity, our organ will continue to make a joyful noise now and for decades to come.
